At British Time English Language Schools, General English programs are offered across six core levels: A1 (Beginner), A2 (Elementary), B1 (Pre-Intermediate), B2 (Intermediate), C1 (Upper-Intermediate), and C2 (Advanced).
Each level is completed in 100 lesson hours, designed to develop students’ language skills in a systematic and progressive manner. Training programs are supported by visual and audio materials, modern interactive smart board applications, and technical equipment aligned with contemporary educational standards. In addition to regular classes, speaking clubs, grammar clubs, and supervised study sessions are offered free of charge to reinforce students’ language skills. Classes are generally held with 14 to 16 students. At British Time, courses at the A1 and A2 levels (Beginner & Elementary) are primarily taught by Turkish instructors, while at the B1, B2, C1, and C2 levels, Turkish and native-speaking instructors teach in a balanced manner. This system ensures that students receive education aligned with both local and international standards, maximizing language proficiency. Under an ISO 9001–approved quality assurance system, students are awarded certificates appropriate to each completed level. The levels and their content are as follows:
A1 – Beginner: Suitable for students who are completely new to English. Very basic vocabulary and expressions related to daily life are introduced. Students learn to introduce themselves using simple sentences, ask and answer basic questions, and communicate about everyday routines. This level also develops the ability to understand simple directions and follow short dialogues.
A2 – Elementary: Students can communicate in everyday situations and express basic needs. Topics such as shopping, transportation, family, and surroundings are covered. Short narratives are formed using simple past and future structures.
B1 – Pre-Intermediate: At this level, students can express themselves more comfortably on familiar topics. Thoughts and feelings can be communicated both orally and in writing. Learners are able to follow slow and clear video content, read and interpret short texts, and strengthen their communication skills through group work and discussions.
B2 – Intermediate: Students can use English fluently and effectively. Job interviews, meetings, and non-academic texts can be easily understood. More complex language structures, idiomatic expressions, and implied meanings are introduced. Learners can express opinions, participate in discussions, and elaborate on their ideas.
C1 – Upper-Intermediate: Effective communication is achieved in academic and professional contexts. Long and complex texts can be understood, and academic writing skills are developed. Presentations, meetings, and formal correspondence are conducted with a high level of accuracy. Students use the language flexibly and efficiently.
C2 – Advanced: This level provides near-native English proficiency. Students can use the language flawlessly in academic, professional, and social settings. Complex texts are analyzed, and creative as well as critical writing skills are developed. This level represents full command of English at an international standard.
